Our Beliefs

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
2 Timothy 3:16

What We Believe:

God is the Creator of heaven and earth.  He is Sovereign in the affairs of the universe.  He is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent.  He is one God that exists in three Persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He created man to reveal to him the full spectrum of His character and glory.  (Genesis 1:1; Psalms 90:2; Proverbs 15:3; Isaiah 40:28; Matthew 28:18; 1 John 5:7)

God has revealed Himself, in this day, foremost through His Word, the Bible.  His Word is pure, eternal, true, powerful, and perfect.  It was authored by God and penned by men. The Word of God is the sole source of divine truth in the world today.  (Psalms 19:7-10; 2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:15-17)

The Bible, in essence, is the story of Jesus Christ.  He is the Creator of all things.  He is the Son of God (God in human form).  He was conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of a virgin.  He lived a sinless life, died on a cross, rose from the dead three days later, and is now in Heaven at the right hand of the Father. One day He will return to rule the world as King of Kings.  (Matthew 1:18-20; John 1:1-3; 10:30-33; Romans 4:25; Hebrews 4:15; 7:26; Revelation 1:18; 19:11-16; 22:12)

Christ came to earth to redeem sinful man.  Man was created in God’s image and for His glory.  Through the Fall of Adam, man is now under the consequence of sin: forced to struggle in life and destined to suffer eternally.  Sin has tainted man’s nature that he naturally rejects God and therefore must be divinely prompted, awakened, and caused to see his sinful condition and need for salvation.  (Genesis 1:26-27; Psalms 51:5; John 1:13; 6:44, 65; Romans 3:10-18; 5:12; 1 Corinthians 15:22; Ephesians 2:4-10; 1 Timothy 2:1-8)

Man’s need is salvation and His only hope for obtaining it is through repentance and faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Salvation by grace through faith is available to all men for God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.  Those who receive Christ and obey the Gospel are then adopted by God and made co-heirs with Christ Jesus.  Therefore, they have a reserved place, an eternal home, in Heaven.  Those men, however, who fail to receive Christ and reject the Gospel will find themselves damned to eternal punishment in a fiery Hell.  (Mark 16:15-16; John 14:1-6; Acts 4:12; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; 2 Peter 3:9; Revelation 22:17)

Holy Spirit

God the Holy Spirit is present and working in the lives of men today.  He permanently indwells saints at salvation, and ministers to the saints through fullness, gifts, and empowerment.  He was sent by the Father to edify, escort, encourage and empower the children of God.  (John 14:16-18, 26; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9-11; 26-27; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; Galatians 5:16, 25)

The Church is the pillar and ground of Truth in the world today.  Christ is the Head of the church and in all things is to have the pre-eminence. The church has been commissioned by the Lord Jesus to disciple the nations.  This is achieved through soul-winning, baptism, and regular systematic Bible teaching.  It's purpose is to spread the Gospel, serve the community in Christ-like love, and build the saints of God to be like Jesus both corporately and individually.  The church lives each day with an ernest expectation of Christ’s return and the subsequent culmination of this present age.  (Matthew 16:18; 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 4:11-13; Revelation 22:12, 20)
